The President Hu Jintao pointed out that the physically and mentally challenged children are the most vulnerable and weakest in the society. They most need love, caring and protection. All levels of party committees and governments must put the hearts and efforts into the cause of caring and helping the physically and mentally challenged children by completing the rescuing and helping systems, perfecting welfare facilities, promoting special education and mobilizing people from all walks to contribute love and care to the children so that they can grow in good health and happiness under the same blue sky as other normal children.

Shenzhen Min Ai Disabled Children’s Welfare Center, initiated by the patriotic democratic personage, Chinese People Political Consultative Conference Shenzhen Municipal Council Committee member and China Zhigong Party Shenzhen Municipal Council Committee Member, Mr. Pin Xie, authorized by the Shenzhen Civil Affair Administration, and with generous contribution from the patriotic Canadian overseas Chinese youth entrepreneur couple Mr. Jialong Wen and Mrs. Wen as well as vigorous support from all walks of the warm-hearted public, is now established. It is a civilian-run and government-supervised civil welfare organization. The expenditure of the Center comes mainly from donations and a small amount of subsidy from the government.    

The tenet of the Center is: Serve for the Physically and Mentally Challenged Children, help the families with Challenged Children, Share Social Responsibilities with the government. The Center helps those children who are physically and mentally challenged and can not be able to go to normal school retrieve self confidence, improve intelligence and be more adaptive to the society; at the same time, helps the families with the physically and mentally challenged children solve difficulties in their life so that they can be more devoted into their work and study.    

The center is authenticated the qualification as a disabled children education and training organization by the Shenzhen Disabled People Association The Center is equipped with specialists in challenged child education, rehabilitation training, mental treatment, medical care and nursing and nutrition, and also provided with the brand-new facilities, places and electronic monitoring system for all the processes when the children attend classes, do training, play games, dine and sleep. The planned recruitment contains 60 challenged children. Teaching method: One-to-one individual coaching. Via massive training in sensation and sense harmonization, music, game, language, behavior modification, mental treatment in addition to normal course teaching, the Center strives to improve the children's self-dependant ability, enhancing their abilities in imitation, consciousness, muscle function, hand-eye coordination, learning and understanding, language expression and participation in social activities.    

The Center locates in Down Meilin Area of Shenzhen Futian District, close to Meilin Culture and Sports Park, and only 2-3 minute walk to the biggest park of this area, Meilin Ecology Park. It is very advantageous to do the outdoor trainings and games for the children.    

      The Center is not closed during normal school’s winter and summer vacations. It opens Monday to Friday each week, except the legal holidays.
